Study Objective

What was measured?

The study evaluated the reduction of skin lesions—mainly pyoderma and canine atopic dermatitis (CAD)—treated only with PSH Ozone line shampoo therapy, without systemic antibiotic support.

Canine atopic dermatitis affects 15-20% of the canine population, with lesions in interdigital, auricular, axillary, inguinal, and facial areas. The most frequent bacterial pathogen is Staphylococcus pseudointermedius.

Methodology

How it was performed

🐾

N = 15 dogs with pyoderma or CAD diagnosis confirmed by a veterinary dermatologist.

📅

45 days of follow-up with 4 veterinary visits (days 0, 15, 30, and 45) or until clinical cure.

📊

Objective measurement using the CADESI-4 scale (erythema, lichenification, excoriations, alopecia) + review cytology.

🧴

Protocol: Shampoo therapy + Ozone Foam every 2-3 days during active flare-ups, gradually spacing out as symptoms improve.

Real case: 3-year-old Yorkshire Terrier — Acute urticarial ACD
